These subs might make you slap somebody you love be careful
Always delicious!
Always great sandwiches something about the vinegar dressing and relish is really good!! Nice place to take a lunch break from work...
My family has been coming here for as long as it's been around and as long as I've been alive it's been my favorite place. Such good sandwiches, love the meat sauce, excellent service. Always an Arlington treat! :) <3
Best sandwiches in DFW. Stopped in recently after a 25 year hiatus and it was better than I remembered! Highly recommend!
Eh. It's a cute little place. Obviously Ben there a long time. But I won't be back. The vegetarian in our crew loves it. If you want mostly salad, this is the sandwich for you. If you think there being 4 kinds of meat on their namesake sandwich means you'll be able to find the meat on your sandwich, think again.
The food is excellent as always. Everything is fresh and the oil they put on top is buttery and delicious. I saw a racist comment about the manager not being American. I saw a weak individual offended about history and I saw someone who doesn't like pickles and another who says she was stared at for being black. It seems to me these people are offended by FREEDOM,
They need better quality ingredients. The service was good and the tables were clean. The prices are reasonable.
This place has been here for a really long time; nothing has changed since ive been coming here and that is a good thing! They make great sub sandwiches. The staff are always welcoming, menue is small, showing that you dont need a hundred items on a menue to be successful. The 12" original bomber is what i usually get and its always good. Located right off of 303/pioneer parkway and between fielder and bowen roads. Right next to Two Wheel World.Check em out!
The sandwiches were very processed and did not taste fresh. The sub was dry even with the house dressing. The staff were not wearing their masks over their noses and mouths.
Delicious, we split a 12" Bomber with everything add cherry peppers!!! You gotta try!🤗
Sandwiches are fine, just all cold ones. But if you're not extremely right winged you will be pretty uncomfortable in this environment. Lots of anti-government and Republican decor here folks. Stick to Dinos if you want good subs and not politics.
Jo-Ed's has been a part of Arlington since I was a teenager, many years ago. It just feels nostalgic to visit there and have their NY style subs. We go at least twice a month. They proudly display pictures and memorabilia of the U.S. services. The owner is always friendly and wants her customers to leave satisfied. The building is old and not so fancy, but that's part of the charm to us who have been long-time customers. She even has a big heart to stray cats, leaving bowls of food and water outside. If you've never been there, give them a try!
I love this place! The tuna salad and chicken salad sandwiches are my absolute favorite. The potato salad and potato soup are delicious as well. The staff is super friendly and talkative most of the time. My sandwich is perfect every time, and the best part is the oil and seasoning salt they put on it. Delicious!! This place is also covered in military decor, and you can tell they lean to the right and have conservative stuff all over the place. Every time I go in they have Fox news on the tv, and they even have books by Ted Cruz and other conservative pundits and politicians on display. It kind of cracks me up every time I go in there because it's the total opposite of my views, but the sandwiches are that good. Plus I love to support a wonderful, friendly, family owned business.
Clean..friendly staff and OUTSTANDING subs..Unigue in many ways are the subs and always satisfied when I go there..CHECK THEM OUT!!!
My childhood favorite and still will drive 30 mins for this fav!!
Good sandwich and a Marine I appreciate the tribute to the military.
One of my favorite sandwich places to go! Food is great and staff is personable and friendly! Regina runs a great place! Get the Bomber supreme WITH pickle and try the potato soup! DELICIOUS!
A great place to dine. Family owned feel. Military style decor. Staff very respectful. East Coast style Sub sandwiches. The food was the "bomb" #arlingtontxdining
The subs are excellent. However in June 2020 on my visit none of the personnel were wearing masks. I will not return because of the lack of safety.
My husband and I love eating here, I really like the meatball sandwich!
Great place to get food poisoning. Threw up for days after eating here.
Outstanding subs. Always top notch...
Its not worth it!!!!!Iam a African American female, I walked in & 2 Caucasian ladies kept staring at me. I know I'm beautiful but it was very awkward. They looked frightened, detached, and confused. I told the lady it was my first time there; she just gave me a weird look. The sandwich was mediocre. I felt sick afterward. The vegies and meat tasted old. Bread was too soft & doughy. I personally think subway is better. I told the lady I had exact change but she looked at the money as if she did not want it. I won't be back. It was too awkward. I don't know exactly how the civil rights days was like(too young) but I sure felt I stepped into another time period for whites only.
Whenever I'm visiting family in Arlington, I try to get to Jo-Ed's. Great subs and great people. I get the Bomber with all the veggies and red peppers. The white bread roll is always fresh and makes for an amazing sandwich. The owner is usually there working with her staff who all take great care in making each sub. I highly recommend you give it a try.
The dining room is open. The subs are fantastic. We have been coming here for years.
I had a sub the other day. It was amazing. The family who runs the place is awesome. Great spot to grab lunch. Fresh toppings and lots of meat!
I've been coming here for years and the subs have always been excellent. Sometimes there's a long wait but I'm usually out in 20 minutes. It's a clean little mom-and-pop place with a clear affection towards the military and Dodge Challengers :) . Classic Arlington sub joint!
Great chicken salad sandwich. Great home made potato salad. Plus the signature bomber sandwich is the BOMB
Awesome subs!!! The best subs anywhere! Friendly and patient staff!!!
Great sandwiches and nice people
Subs are awesome and so is is the decorations
What a great little shop! I stopped here tonight for the first time, and really enjoyed the experience. The staff is very nice and friendly, and made suggestions based on the fact that I was a newbie. My Bomber Supreme was ready very quickly, with the perfect balance of meats, cheese, and toppings, and not overwhelmed by an excess of bread. It was perfect. I'll definitely visit again.
BEST SUB SHOP IN DFW!!! I've been eating at Jo-Ed's Bomber for 40 years. Alta Mesa location in the 80's and Arlington from the 90's to 2019. It is Still as good as it's always been. One of the best two sub shops in all of DFW. Gallagaskin's on Camp Bowie being the other but DEFINITELY COME TO THE BOMBER!
I've been eating here for decades and it's still FANTASTIC
Excellent food! Family owned and proud supporters of our US military! Definitely will be back! Mmmmm yummy!
Super great subs, started going there in 1978
The subs are okay. The atmosphere isn't welcoming at all. It's like walking into a klan meeting
I've been eating these Bombers since i was a kid. Always Great food and even better People. Today they even gave my Dad a complimentary piece of home made cake for his birthday.
This place is very military friendly, but even if you aren't, don't let that keep you away. They were friendly when we visited, and the subs had ingredients that certainly seemed local. I ordered the "regular" and it tasted fresh, and had a great mix of flavors - nothing overpowering, and lots of flavor. One of the guys working there said the place was owned by a retired Marine Lt. Colonel and that it had been in the same location since the early 1960's. The history is obvious once you get inside.Yes, Subway's has similar stuff, and might be cheaper, but I for one have gotten sick from ingredients thawed not so recently at that chain. What I saw at Jo-Eds made me think I didn't have to worry about their quality. I live nearby and plan to return often, so if I ever have a bad experience I'll update this review. So if it doesn't seem to change, it's still good food.
Subs are not even okay. I WILL NEVER go back to this place. Very processed meats and cheeses. Bread is fresh, that was nice, nothing else about the place was though. As stated in many other reviews, this place is thick with politics. The thick accented lady behind the counter was completely abusive to one of her employees and frankly should not be "training" anyone.
All bread. No meat. Processed cheese, what more can go wrong! A few ppl claim that this is a Jersey style sandwich, well praise the good Lord that every state Nth of Jersey has mom and pop sandwich shops which run the Big chains out of business. This mom and pop shop would not and could not exist anywhere north of the Mason Dixon line.
Excellent sandwich and service.I forgot about this place. Stop in today. Wow just as I remember it was 30 years ago. I will be a regular customer from here on out
sandwiches awesome just like the service homemade
Awesome love them been going there since i was 5 and im 28 tuesday so yeah food is awesome
Homemade sandwiches good meats good service
These subs are the "Bomb", definitely coming back!
Always a good sandwich! Quick and easy service with a smile!
Great sandwich nice and fresh. I've been here several times but if it customer service your looking for forget it.
Gross. That’s the only word that comes to mind. Had I have known they were basically wrapping a dry, think, giant piece of turkey around pickle relish, onions and oddly chunked tomatoes, almost like a deli style burrito, I wouldn’t have gotten it. I took all of that off in effort to rebuild, and it was too nasty to mess with. Had high hopes considering this place has been here so long.
